What's free
With one kid, you get the full app. That includes chores with parent approval, weekly and monthly chores, chore rotation, up-for-grabs chores, Pay Day, the automatic spend, save and give split, savings interest, recurring allowance, Kid Mode with read-aloud, widgets, the printable monthly chore chart and the Apple TV board. It isn't a trial and it doesn't expire. Plenty of families with one kid never need to pay anything.
What the Family Unlock adds
The Family Unlock is for two situations:
- A second kid, or a third, or more. Add as many kids as you have.
- Another grown-up on their own devices. Share the family through iCloud so a partner, co-parent or grandparent sees the same chores and balances on their own iPhone or iPad.
It costs $9.99, one time. It covers as many kids as you like, and inviting another grown-up to share the family on their own Apple Account.
Why pay once?
We think a family chore chart should work like a good kitchen tool. You buy it, it does its job, and you don't have to think about it again. A one-time price means:
- No renewal to remember. Nothing to cancel, nothing to budget for next year.
- It fits the way families grow. Kids arrive years apart. You shouldn't have to pay again every time the youngest is ready for chores.
- The app stays calm. There's no upgrade screen waiting behind every tap. Once you've unlocked the family, it's simply the app.

What you don't need
Pocket Piggy is a ledger, not a bank. It tracks chores and money so your family agrees on the numbers, and you decide how kids actually get paid. That means there's no bank account or card to link, and no Pocket Piggy account to create. Your family's data stays in your own iCloud. Read our privacy policy for the details.
What your family gets
- A chore chart the whole family can see. Parent approval, weekly and monthly chores, and chores that take turns. More on the chore chart.
- Allowance that adds itself up. Spend, save and give, savings interest you pay, recurring allowance and Pay Day. More on allowance.
- The board on your TV. The family chore board on Apple TV, synced with your phones. More on Apple TV.
- Kid Mode. A PIN-locked view for kids, with read-aloud for kids who aren't reading yet.
- Penny. Our friendly piggy mascot.
Common questions
Is the free version a trial?
No. Free for one kid means free for as long as you use it.
Do I have to pay again on a new phone?
No. The unlock follows your Apple Account. If it isn't showing after a reset or a new device, open Settings in the app and tap "Restore purchases".
Will it become a subscription later?
The Family Unlock is a one-time purchase. There's no subscription at any tier.
What if it isn't right for us?
